File15.bmpLearning to treat each other with respect is an ongoing theme in our classroom.  Viewing all our classmates as friends and as a part of our class team is encouraged.

Reading is the key for a successful second grade year.  Students are expected to read for 20 minutes every single day of the week.  This daily reading really adds up over the course of the year and helps your child to develop a love of reading.  In addition to your child reading to you,  don't forget that reading to your child still counts as reading time too.  Also, I encourage all my parents to choral read with their child.  That means you read out loud with your child at the same time that they are. so that you are actually reading together.  The children love to read this way!   Just remember, that no matter how you choose to read with your child, the important thing is to make sure it's accomplished every day!
